DODA, May 28: The people of Dharout in Bhagwah Zone of Kastigarh staged protest against shortage of teaching staff in Government High School Dharout.
Large number of people including parents of the students assembled in the school premises and raised slogans against the Government and the Education Department.
They alleged that the Government and the Education Department are playing with the future of the students, who are pursing their education in this institution.
They said that Education Department is wasting the time of their children as most of the times students return back to home without even learning a word. “Out of 22 teachers sanctioned for the school, only two teachers attend their duty”, they added.
The protestors said that this school was a ray of hope for the people of Kastigarh area which is otherwise an educationally backward area.
“Due to the low standard of teaching and shortage of teaching staff, the students of this educational institution cannot compete with other institutions of the district especially townships”, they added.
They informed that presently 70 to 80 students are registered in the institution, adding that ‘we have decided to take away our wards out of this school and will lock up it till the posts are filled’.
