People protest against Medical staff at Kotranka

RAJOURI, June 14: The people from Kotranka today held strong protest against the Medical staff at Kotranka hospital and demanded action against the employees.
Reports said the trouble started rated when   one Mohd Farooq, along with his wife and two minor ailing sons   arrived   at Kotranka hospital for treatment. The doctor on duty attended the patients and asked Farooq to get the tests performed in the Lab. The poor villager went to the Hospital Lab and asked Lab technician to perform the tests. The Lab staff asked him to go to the nearby private Lab to get the tests performed there. The villager told that he had no sufficient money and moreover, what was the problems to him in performing tests in hospital Lab.
Upon this there was some heated exchanges between Farooq and Lab Technician. Later, other staff  also arrived and they allegedly thrashed the villager.  When his wife came to the rescue of her husband she was too manhandled.  The middle aged couple, hailing from Jaglanoo village  then came out of the hospital. They narrated  the whole matter to the  people  at the main market. Some villagers from Jaglanoo were also there in the market.
The people got agitated and then moved to the hospital and started protest demonstration at the main gate. They also blocked Rajouri-Budhal road. They shouted slogans against Hospital staff, BMO Kotranka, CMO Rajouri, Director Health and Health Minister Bali Bhagat. They demanded that all Lab tech and other staff be suspended   and legal action under law be taken against staff who beaten up the couple. They also demanded that entire over staying staff be shifted and new staff be appointed and unholy nexus between the private Labs/ shops and the hospital staff be broken.
Later, SDM Kotranka went to the spot and pacified the agitating people. He assured an impartial  inquiry into the matter. He also talked to DC and CMO Rajouri. The DC asked to hold inquiry to the SDM and submit report. But till late this evening, no action was taken by the Administration against the staff.
