POONCH, June 10: The people from Arai and adjoining areas of Mandi today held strong protest demonstration and blocked Mandi-Loran road for about four hours.
The villagers came out on the road near Mandi town and blocked Mandi-Loran road at around 7.30 am. They were shouting slogans against the CAPD department for non-availability of ration, poor supply of power supply and shortage of water. They also alleged that road condition was worst and the R&B authorities failed to repair the road since long.
After raising barricades, on the road the villagers sat on dharna on this road. A large number of vehicles remained stranded on the road for about four hours. Later, Tehsildar Mandi and SHO went to the spot and they pacified the agitating villagers and assured to take up the matter with the higher authorities. The people then lifted dharna at around 11.15 AM.
