RAJOURI, July 11: Residents of Dassal and Plunian area held protest demonstration at Nagesh bridge and blocked Jammu Poonch road here today.
They were protesting against Jammu-Poonch Bus Union members for suspension of plying bus on Rajouri-Dassal-Plunian route. The villagers from the area raised barricades on the road at the bridge at around 12.30 and started protest. They demanded that bus service be resumed on this route. Later, SHO and Tehsildar reached the spot and talked to the people.
Later, they took up the matter with the local Bus Union manager/ agents and the bus service was resumed today. The agitating villagers then lifted dharna and allowed movement of traffic on the busy highway at around 1.30 pm.
