SAMBA, Sept 5: The irate relatives and local people of Mansar and adjoining villages held a strong protest and blocked the  National Highway at Gurah Morh near Vijaypur in Samba district against the death of a young housewife at her in-laws residence at Nagrota Utterbeni yesterday in mysterious circumstances.
The protestors blocked the Highway for two hours by keeping the body of the deceased lady on road, raising slogans and demanding immediate arrest of the accused responsible for the death of the young house wife Madhu Sharma who they alleged was killed by her in-laws for want of dowry. The protestors also raised slogans against the police and blamed it for inaction.
Madhu who was married to Rakesh Kumar of Nagrota two years back has a ten month old daughter.
Her parents alleged that their daughter was often being harassed and physically tortured for giving birth to a female child due to which she was staying with her parents but after the intervention of some respectable persons she was sent to the in-laws house with hope that things would settle with passage of time.
Her parents further said that yesterday evening, they got an information that their daughter had received burn injuries at her in –laws house. They said that it was a clear case of murder. They lodged a case in Police Station against Rakesh Kumar husband of Madhu and his other family members.
