SUNDERBANI, July 31: In view of the failure of water supply to Hathal and Devak area of Sunderbani, for the last few months, the locals of the area held protest against the PHE/ Jal Shakti authorities today.
The locals of the area claimed that the water supply to the area has been snapped for the last about 5-6 months and the locals are dependent on the natural water sources.
Today hundreds of people of village Devak & Hathal held protest against Public Health Engineering (PHE/Jal Shakti Deptt) Minister, the concerned Chief Engineer and Executive Engineer.
The protest was led by Pt Kailash Kashev along with a large number of men, women and children of the villages. They were shouting slogans against Minister, DC Rajouri, Chief Engineers and others.
The protesters Sukhdev Sharma, Shamsher Singh, Balkrishen, Balak Ram, Krishan Lal, Ram Payari, Sunita, Pooja and others alleged that water supply to their area has been snapped for the last six months due to some technical snag. The dug well has also been burried under the mud and debris. The repeated requests have fallen flat till today. They claimed that if the department fails to restore the water supply within next 3-4 days, the people will block Jammu-Poonch highway.
