KISHTWAR, Mar 21: People held protest against Power Development Department (PDD) for not restoring power supply even after seven days.
During the protest, the vehicle operators also extended their support by jamming the wheels of their vehicles.
All the vital roads were blocked by the protesters including highway near DC office and Mini Bus Stand.
Protesters raised slogans against PDD and expressed their anguish over step motherly treatment of PDD, administration and NHPC authorities.
They demanded early restoration of power as due to non-restoration of power, the students appearing in various exams are facing problems.
The people demanded to handover the Dulhasti project to the State Government to mitigate the power need of Kishtwar.
Randeep Bhandari, Congress leader criticized the State Government and NHPC and demanded action against the authority for not restoring the power supply.
On the assurances of ADC Kishtwar the protestors dispersed.
