People from all walks of life participate in Mela Pat

BHADARWAH, Sept 10: After one week of Kailash yatra, the people form all walks of life participated in the Mela Pat here. The Mela is a token of admiration to the Raja Nag Paul, who once was invited by Mughal emperor Akbar.
The main motto of King Akbar was to make Raja Nag Paul bow before the throne. But due to spiritual and commendable power of Raja Nag Paul, the King was inspired and he awarded him with precious gifts including umbrella of silk clothes embroidered with gold crowned having golden Kalsh and numerous gifts which are every year displayed and exhibited with pooja flowers during the festival which commences from September 10 to September 12.
The local administration makes all arrangements for the mela and local dance is performed with people raising slogans in praise of Raja Nag Paul and Naga Vasuki. The significance of the festival is that people perform prayers with devotion and high spirit. The festival enriches the civilization, religious impact and pilgrimage importance of Bhadarwah township.
