JAMMU, May 28: Former minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today slammed BJP Governments at the Centre and BJP-PDP alliance in the State for failing to fulfill their poll promises.
“The BJP has failed to fulfill even a single promise after coming to power at the Centre as well as the State, causing strong resentment among all sections of society,” Mr Bhalla said while addressing a public gatherings at Bahu Fort and Nanak Nagar here in Gandhi Nagar constituency today.
He said the BJP was disrespecting people’s mandate by not materializing its poll promises, while the people who supported and voted it whole heartedly in the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls, were eagerly waiting for ‘ Acche Din’. He targeted the State Government for not providing adequate fertilizer, seeds and canal water to the farmers.
He said the farmers are on the verge of devastation due to the BJP’s anti-farmer policies.
The PCC leader said while the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre is completing its three-years, refugees and weaker sections of J&K are yet to have a feeling of the ‘Achhe Din’ as the tall promises made to them are yet to be fulfilled. With the BJP’s majority government at the Centre and the party being an equal partner with the PDP in J&K, these sections of society had high hopes from new Govt but as of now, nothing concrete has been done in this regard.
Bhalla further alleged that the NDA Government at the Centre and the PDP-BJP regime have failed to check anti-national activities in the State. He said that the BJP has completely surrendered before the PDP and it is lacking courage to put forth the genuine problems of people of Jammu in the Govt.
“People are craving for power and drinking water facilities, especially in these months of scorching summer but the administration seems to be in deep slumber which is evident from frequent and unscheduled power cuts for hours and scarcity of drinking water in most of Jammu areas”, Bhalla said.
