JAMMU, May 19: The residents of Kerrian Gandyal blocked the Kerrian road against the movement of heavy loaded tippers on link road causing severe damage to it.
Numbers of people including the women sat on protest dharna on Kerrian Chowk. They raised anti administration slogans. They criticized the concerning Department for its failure in controlling the movement of heavy loaded tippers on the road.
The protesters Anita Rani, Geeta, Krishna and Neelam said that after the hard effort, the Jerrian road to Sunderchack was constructed but there is round the clock movement of heavy loaded tippers which were put on the job by Expressway construction companies and stone crusher owners which damage the newly constructed road in Khud. This way they caused serious problems for daily commuters and patients on way to hospital. They demanded to stop the movement of tippers on this road and repair the road for commuters.
After two hours protest SHO Lakhanpur reached on the spot and assured them early action.
