SAMBA, July 17: Hundreds of people today came on road and blocked the Jammu-Pathankote highway against alleged manhandling of a youth by a senior police officer here.
As per sources, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Munish Anand during vehicle checking intercepted a motorcyclist Sunny Kumar, son of Ram Dass of Samba and later manhandled the youth over some issue.
The youth informed that the family members and friends about the manhandling by the aforesaid DSP, they added.
Raising slogans against the Police Department, hundreds of people assembled at Samba Chowk and blocked the busiest Jammu-Pathankote highway, leading to traffic chaos, they said.
Later, after the intervention of senior Police officers, the protestors dispersed and the vehicular movement on the highway was restored.
