JAMMU, Dec 20: Chiarman Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Association and Trade Union leader, Mir Ghulam Rasool has urged the Government to put the privatization of grids on hold and for any decision in this regard the employees and engineers of the Power Development Department may be taken in the confidence.
Expressing concern over the failure of the Government in settling the demands of the striking power employees, Mir said that the working class in PDD needs job security and privatization of PDD is neither in the interests of the poor people of the UT nor the employees hence Government should reconsider the decision in this regard in the larger interests of the people of J&K.
He said it is the duty of the Government to see why the Department is suffering loss and remove the loopholes if any but the privatization of the Department can’t be any solution to the problem. He said both Government and striking employees should avoid confrontationist attitude and resolve the stalemate on the issue.
