JAMMU, Aug 6: A meeting of Pensioners & Senior Citizens Welfare Society J&K was held at Parimpora, Srinagar under the chairmanship of its president, Mir Gh Rasool Botwani in which many issues of pensioners were discussed.
It demanded that Central Government as well as Ladakh employees and pensioners are getting monthly Medical Allowance of Rs 1000/- since April 2020 but the employees and pensioners of Jammu and Kashmir are being deprived of the same when UT Ladakh was part of J&K before its bifurcation so there should be no discrimination in this regard.
The meeting demanded enhancement of monthly pension from the age of 65 years @ 20% instead of 80 years of age as various states have already enhanced pensionery benefits to their pensioners.

The meeting demanded that 8th Pay Commission be implemented to the pensioners from January 2026 and there should not be any delay or discrimination with the pensioners.
