JAMMU, Nov 3: A deputation of the Jammu & Kashmir Civil Secretariat Pensioners Welfare Forum, Jammu chapter met Advisor to the Chief Minister today and placed their long-pending demand regarding enhancement of the medical allowance for pensioners, at least in line with the increase already granted by the Ladakh administration.
The delegation was led by Surjeet Singh, chief advisor of the Forum. Other members who accompanied him include M L Qazi (additional general secretary), executive members K K Handa and Soon Nath Gurtoo.
Welcoming Darbar Move, the deputation described it as a symbol of unity and integration, representing the harmonious coexistence of Hindus, Sikhs, and Muslims, along with Pahari and Gujjar communities.
The deputation expressed hope that the genuine demands of pensioners would receive early consideration.
