Pensioners demand release of 3 percent DA, hike in MA

JAMMU, Jan 6: A meeting of JK Pensioners’ and Senior Citizen Welfare Society was held here today under the Chairmanship of its president, Mir Gh Rasool Botwani. The members urged upon the UT Government to release 3% DA due from July 2024,already paid to Central Government Employees & Ladakh UT employees. The members also urged for enhancement of Medical Allowance up to Rs.1000/-from Rs 300/, demanded stopping of recovery of commutation amount to pensioners after 10 years as per court directions besides some other states of the India have also stopped recovery of commutation. They also urged for release of 18 months arrears of DA which is held up for Covid period, senior citizen card be issued to all JK Pensioners’ without any delay all daily wagers be regularised having seven years service their wages be increased to Rs 18000/pm,insurance policy be launched for them.
