JAMMU, Jan 29: J&K State Pensioners Association (JKSPA), Jammu province, has demanded enhancement of Medical Allowance of the Government employees and pensioners and release of their Dearness Allowance which was with held during Covid period.
In a press statement issued here today, president of the Association, Krishan Singh urged upon the JKUT Government to enhance the Medical Allowance of the employees and the pensioners from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month, which is being paid to the pensioners of the other Union Territories like Ladakh and the Central Government pensioners. The employees and pensioners are raising this demand since long but there is no positive response from the Omar Government, he said.
The Association president further requested the Union Govt for the release of withheld DA installment from January 2020 to ending June 2021. He also appealed to the Prime Minister for asking the Central Pay Commission to visit the Jammu and Kashmir for considering various financial issues of the State pensioners and employees as per the past practice for its consideration.
Krishan Singh also urged upon the Government for release of pending GPF of the retired employees, lying with the State Treasuries along with Gratuity etc as they are facing financial hardships which need immediate attention of the concerned authorities in the Union Government.
