JAMMU, Oct 26: A delegation of J&K Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Society Kashmir called on Advisor to Governor, B B Vyas at Srinagar and discussed various issues of the pensioners and senior citizens with him.
The delegation demanded that Medical Allowance for employees and pensioners be enhanced from Rs 300 to Rs 1000, the age limit for hike in pension be reduced from 80 years to 65 years, Mediclaim Group Insurance Scheme be simplified and the problems being faced by the State pensioners be looked into.
The Advisor sought the report from Commissioner Secretary concerned on the issues presented by the delegation, a handout issued by the Society said. It also welcomed the steps being taken to weed out corruption from public life and declaring the medicalim policy null and void by the Government. It also expressed the hope that the pro people policies will be given priority by the Government.
The delegation was led by the chairman of the Society Mir Ghulam Rasool, its general secretary, Sheikh Mohi-ud-Din Shelvati, Ali Mohammed and Mohammed Sultan.
