JAMMU, Feb 5: Gangyal police arrested a pedestrian along with ganja.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gangyal police station laid a naka near a factory in its jurisdiction and intercepted a pedestrian.
During checking, police recovered 1 kilograms ganja from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Vijay Kumar alias Sona, son of Bansi Nath, a resident of Panjgrahi, Tehsil Akhnoor.
A case under FIR Number 10/16 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Gangyal police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal police station Inspector Aejaz Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SP South Shaazad Salaria and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
