Pedestrian arrested with 12.5 kg ‘nagchatri’

RAMBAN, June 30: Police arrested a pedestrian along with banned medicinal herb “nagchatri” from Railway Crossing Chowk, Banihal.
As per police sources, a team from Banihal police station during surprise checking at Railway Crossing Chowk intercepted a person as he was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 12.50 kilograms banned medicinal herb “nagchatri” and arrested the person, who has been identified as Abdul Rashid, son of Ahmed Bhat of Buzla Khari.
A case has been registered against the pedestrian at Banihal police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Banihal Inspector Nazeer Ahmed Dar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Mohammad Rafiq and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
