Peddler nabbed with 75 codeine bottles, cash

SRINAGAR, Nov 11: Police today arrested a notorious drug peddler in Pulwama and recovered codeine bottles and cash from his possession.
Authorities stated that a police team from the Police Station Pulwama intercepted a vehicle (Tata Mobile) with registration number JK13F-6030 on Sirnoo Mooghama Road.
The vehicle was being driven by Feroz Ahmad Rather, son of Ghulam Mohd Rather a resident of Karimabad Pulwama, who upon noticing the police party, attempted to flee but was tactfully apprehended at the spot.
During the search, the police reported finding 75 bottles of Codeine Phosphate and cash amounting to Rs 39,050 (proceeds of narcotics) in his possession.
“The individual has been arrested, and the vehicle used in the commission of the crime has also been seized,” confirmed the police, adding that a case under FIR No. 301/2023, has been registered.
