JAMMU : The “peace bus” service operating between Poonch and Rawlakote weekly has been suspended for one week in view of Id ul-Fitr celebrations, an official here today said.
“The weekly bus which was supposed to operate today, has been suspended due to Id by the authorities on both the sides,” said an official adding that the bus will operate from next Monday.
He further said the trade has also been suspended and will resume from next week.
The Poonch-Rawlakote bus service was started in 2005 as a part of confidence building measures (CBMs) agreed between India and Pakistan, however, only members of divided families are allowed to travel to both sides in the bus. (AGENCIES)
