SRINAGAR, June 13: Congress today accused PDP for playing emotional card in order to ensure the victory of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in Anantnag by-elections.
Addressing public meeting at Fatehpura in Anantnag today, PCC chief G A Mir alleged that the PDP has lost the ground miserably and is now making serous efforts to influence the voters to secure votes for Mehbooba Mufti. He said that Mehbooba Mufti is playing emotional card just to secure votes from the people of Anantnag, as she is aware about the ground situation. She is apprehensive about the outcome of elections results.
He said it has become a routine on the part of PDP and BJP to play emotional cards especially during the election period, but the people of have realized that PDP and its ally BJP are in habit of indulging in politics of opportunism. He felt confident that people of the State will give a befitting reply to both parties.
Stating that Congress is committed to equitable development of all the three regions of the State, PCC chief said that Congress shall continue to remain committed to strengthening the people and overall development of the State.
He said that supporting Congress Party amounts to strengthening people and he urged upon the people to ensure the victory of Congress candidate Hilal Ahmad Shah with a thumping majority, as this Party (Congress) alone have serve the people to the best of its ability.
