KISHTWAR, Mar 4: The district unit of People’s Democratic Party launched Panchayat contact programme and the first meeting was called for Panchayat Trigham- A. The meeting was attended by hundreds of party workers and senior leaders.
The meeting was called by district president, Sheikh Nasir Hussain and addressed by MLC Firdous Ahmad Tak. The meeting was held to redress the problems and difficulties faced by the PDP activists of Panchayat Trigham-A.
Asking workers of the Party, especially leaders of Kishtwar, to be ready for Panchayats elections scheduled to be held in May this year, Tak lambasted previous NC-Congress coalition Government for delaying the same in Jammu and Kashmir.
On the occasion, Tak discussed the developmental issues of the Panchayats of the constituency with the workers and asked them to reach out to people at grass-root level. He also asked the workers to intensify the party activities on ground and establish constructive contact with general masses. They were also asked to hold meetings at block and booth levels to fulfill expectations of the general public.
On the occasion, several workers apprised the leaders about the problems being faced by them due to “poor performance of the administrative officers”. Tak assured the party workers that he will always remain available for them and fight for their causes at all costs. He appealed party workers to provide a helping hand to the destitute and work for the needy and poor people.
