SRINAGAR, July 7: People’s Democratic Front (PDF) president, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has urged Union Home Minister, Amit Shah; Union Tourism Minister, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat; Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah to intervene and facilitate the immediate reopening of tourist destinations in Budgam district, including Yousmarg, Tosa Maidan and Doodhpathri.
In a letter to Union Tourism Minister, Yaseen claimed that the situation has significantly improved in Kashmir after the Pahalgam terrorist attack and several other tourist locations across J&K have already been reopened.
“Doodhpathri, Yousmarg and Tosa Maidan are not only breathtakingly beautiful spots but also economically vital for thousands of locals who depend on tourism for their livelihood. The prolonged ban is pushing youth and their families into deep financial distress,” the PDF leader maintained.
Yaseen also appealed to LG Manoj Sinha and CM Omar Abdullah to coordinate efforts with Central Ministries and take concrete steps to revive tourism in Budgam.
