JAMMU, June 22: BJP Kashmir Displaced Unit general secretary Virender Kuchroo has urged the PDD to have a uniform procedure of charging power tariff from consumers.
Mr Kuchroo in an appeal to Chief Engineer EM&RE and other authorities have demanded that the consumers should be charged the tariff as per the meter reading  and there should be a uniform procedure for checking the load. He said while the big mansions and bungalows are charged with less power tariff, the people having two to three rooms are handed over the bills with high tariff.
Kuchroo said that recently in Anuradhapuram Barnai some residents of middle income group have been charged high power tariff and despite the assurance of the authorities to look into the matter the hapless people were handed over bills with higher tariff, which they are unable to pay. He said  such double standards of PDD authorities have generated a  public resentment and people will come to streets in case the same is not rectified.
