JAMMU, July 14: A Power Development Department (PDD) lineman died due to electrocution while working on a pole here at Janipur area today.
Rajinder Singh (48) son of Thoru Ram of Marjali, Kanachak, was working on a power pole when he suffered electric shock, resulting in severe burn injuries to him, a police official said.
He said the injured PDD lineman was taken to Government Medical College Jammu, where doctors declared him as dead on arrival.
While the body of the deceased lineman was handed over to his family members after conducting the post-mortem examination, police have initiated inquest proceedings to further investigate into the matter.
