JAMMU, Feb 24: The members of Power Employees Unions, during a joint meeting at their Gandhi Nagar office today projected their long pending issues.
The members during meeting held at Gandhi Nagar today discussed the issues of the Power/ JPDCL employees pending since long. They pointed out that the employees under the banner of Coordination Committee of Power Employees Unions recently submitted a detailed memorandum to the Principal Secretary, Power but their issues remained unresolved.
They pointed out that thousands of daily wagers/ ITI Diploma holders, TDL/PDL/ JPDCL employees are over burdened. The daily wagers are not being regularized, despite the fact that over 70 per cent of the workers are are the daily rated and running the entire system in the region. One employee is performing the work of three employees. There is no recruitment since long and moreover, no DPC has been conducted since last over three years.
They pointed out that the DPC of 557 daily wagers has been deferred by the Board of Directors of JPDCL and has been taken as non-priority by the officials at the helm of affairs. They said that workers are being forced to adopt agitational path by the Government due to its indifferent attitude.
