PCCC Trust, Bharat Bharti to present Dogra Legacy Awards on Dec 22

JAMMU, Dec 20: The Parmeshwari Care and Cure Charitable Trust (PCCC Trust), in collaboration with Bharat Bharati, the J&K Academy of Art Culture & Languages and J&K Tourism, is organising a “Dogra Legacy Award – a grand Dogra heritage & Culture Show” titled Duggar Di Virasat at Abhinav Theatre here on the occasion of Dogri Manayata Diwas falling on December 22.
This was announced at a joint press conference by Prof Kulbhushan Mohtra , Managing Trustee and Coordinator, Bharat Bharati Jammu Kashmir, Ramesh Khajuria Trustee of PCCC Trust and Member Core Committee Bharat Bharti and Jagannath Kunjbihari, Rashtriya Sangthan Mantri of Bharat Bharti here, today.
They said Jammu Kashmir, is a testament to the visionary leadership of the Great Dogra Maharajas, who not only established the erstwhile State of J&K and Ladakh but also defended India against foreign forces with unparalleled valor. The Dogra dynasty’s illustrious history is replete with examples of bravery, sacrifice, and patriotism, earning them a revered place in the annals of Indian history. They said Dogras are known for their martialism where heroes, social reformers, artists, the legendary singers,; painters and musicians who mesmerized listeners with his melodies. However, it is disheartening to see how the world has seemingly erased our art and artists from the narrative.
“It is time we reclaim our rightful place in history,” said Kubushan Mahotra Managing Trustee and coordinator Bharat Bharti J&K. “The Dogra Legacy Award will be presented distinct categories – Arts, Literature, Sports, Social Service and public administration – acknowledging excellence in each field and inspiring others to follow in their footsteps.
Dr Romesh Khajuria, Trustee of PCCCTrust, Member Core Committee Bharat Bharati and Ambassador Wool and Woollen Export Promotion Council(WWEPC)said , “The struggles of Dogras are real, and it’s time we acknowledge them. We are facing an identity crisis – at the national level, international level and even within UT conditions. But we are not here to lament; we are here to act. Duggar ki Virasat is our attempt to rediscover our roots, celebrate achievements of legendary Dogras who will inspire future generations to take pride in their heritage”.
He said the event commemorates the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram, reinforcing the region’s historical pride.
Jagannath Kunjbihari, Rashtriya Sangathan Mantri, Bharat Bharti (Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat) said,” To make the nation strong and vibrant, it is very important to acknowledge the efforts of individuals and institutions who works tirelessly for culture and unity.
