PCC to celebrate birth anniversary of GL Dogra

JAMMU, July 9:  Senior leaders of JKPCC today took stock of the prevailing situation and problems being faced by the people especially on account the erratic power supply in the Jammu province.
The meeting, which was chaired by party senior vice president,  Sham Lal Sharma, also reviewed the preparations for the birth anniversary of  Girdhari Lal Dogra, a veteran Congress leader who served in different capacities as Minister and Member Parliament. It was decided that main function will be held at party headquarters on his birth anniversary on July 17, followed by year long celebrations in different areas including his ancestral village as part of 100th year of his birth anniversary.
The meeting felt that Mr Dogra’s contributions and his firm faith in the ideology of Congress party and its principles of secularism, socialism and democracy must be highlighted amongst the younger generations of the State and the Congress cadres, by holding programmes in the 100th year of his birth anniversary.
The meeting took stock of the prevailing power crisis in the Jammu region, as people are facing great hardships on account of scheduled and unscheduled power cuts of long durations besides delay in replacement of damaged and burnt transformers in this scorching heat. The meeting asked the State Government to take immediate necessary measures in this regard. The meeting also reviewed the ongoing membership drive of the party.
Prominent among those who attend the meeting included  Kanta Bhan, Rajnesh Sharma, Balwan Singh, Yogesh Sawney, Shabir Ahmed Khan,  Manjeet Singh, Vikram Malhotra, Manmohan Singh, Namrata Sharma, Shashi Sharma, Balwinder Singh Sambyal, and Neeraj Kundan.
