JAMMU, Aug 19: Expressing surprise over the statement of Union Home Minister that solution to Kashmir problem would be found by 2022, JKPCC has questioned the basis of these claims, when there is overall deterioration in the situation during last three years of BJP rule at the Centre and the present coalition in the State.
Reacting to the assertions of Union Home Minister Raj Nath Singh, PCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that the overall situation in the Kashmir valley on all fronts deteriorated during three years of NDA regime at the Centre and the Coalition Government of PDP-BJP in the State, so mere statements or pledge would not solve the Kashmir problem.
PCC leader said that security environment is at its worst due to manifold rise in the militancy and infiltration from Pakistan, the political atmosphere is totally vitiated and nobody knows the road map of the Centre Government to deal with the situation and restore normalcy. In this backdrop of the overall environment, the hallow assertions based on pledge to solve the Kashmir problem by 2022 does not appear to be more than prophesies or guess work, and attempt to divert attention from failure of the Government on Kashmir front.
Sharma said that the Modi Government and BJP is setting targets beyond their current term in office, with a view to make people forget that they have to go to the people to seek fresh mandate in 2019. These are part of diversionary tactics of BJP, after the utter failure of the BJP Govt on all fronts and promises made to the people in the last Lok Sabha elections.
He said that common man is suffering heavily due to unprecedented price hike of all commodities even after demonetizations and GST, the economy is in shambles, the unemployment is on rise with no adequate job creation as promised, the problems and tension on foreign fronts and with neighbours is increasing day by day and over all atmosphere of peace and harmony is disturbed in the country and in such a situation, the only mode left to Modi Govt and BJP is to divert the attention of common people and keep them engaged in other emotional issues to hoodwinked the public, he added.
