JAMMU, Jan 19: Pradesh Congress Committee, Pradesh Youth Congress and NSUI unit celebrated AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi’s elevation as vice president of AICC at the Jaipur convention thgis evening.
Soon after his announcement as AICC vice president at Jaipur, a large number of party leaders and activists from all the frontal organizations of PCC moved to the party headquarters here and celebrated the occasion. Many party workers were seen dancing on drum beats while others released fire crackers to mark the occasion. The sweets were also distributed among the party activists on the occasion. Jubilant workers kept dancing on the road outside PCC office for some time and they also illuminated the part office.
PCC spokesman Ravinder Sharma told the Excelsior that Rahul Gandhi’s elevation would further strengthen the party and there is great enthusiasm among the party workers on this development. Mr Sharma said that a grand function was held at the party office here this evening and all the party leaders and workers have welcomed the decision of the top Congress leadership.
