PCC authorizes high command to decide on Srinagar, Anantnag by-polls

JAMMU, Mar 10: J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) today authorized the party high command in Delhi to take decision on the upcoming Srinagar and Anantnag Lok Sabha by-elections.
Pradesh Congress Committee held an important meeting in Jammu to take review of the socio, political and security situation prevailing in Kashmir, especially in view of Anantnag and Srinagar Lok Sabha elections which are scheduled to go to polls in April this year.
The meeting was presided over by PCC president, GA Mir.  Senior party leaders and Legislators attended the meeting and threadbare discussed the strategies with regard to ensuing Parliamentary elections.
Taking review of the ground situation in the Valley, the meeting also discussed challenges and deteriorating law and order scenario in the backdrop of the recent incidents of violence and termed the same as unfortunate and a matter of serious concern. The meeting blamed the Govt for failing to contain the situation.
The meeting also discussed the seat adjustment and were of the firm opinion that Congress high command should take a final call in this regard.  In this connection, the Congress Party leaders unanimously passed a  resolution authorizing Party high command to decide about the seat adjustment for the upcoming Srinagar and  Anantnag Lok Sabha elections.
Among others who were present in the meeting included CLP Leader Nawang Rigzin Jora, former PCC president Peerzada Mohd Syed, senior vice president Sham Lal Sharma,  DyCLP Leader Aijaz Ahmad Khan, senior leader and Ex- MP Madan Lal Sharma, former DyCM Tara Chand, senior leader Taj Mohi- ud- Din, PCC vice president G N Monga, Senior leader & Ex-MP Tariq Hamid Karra, senior leader Mula Ram and others.
