Srinagar, Apr 2: In a move aimed at enhancing financial transparency and efficiency, Dr. Ajay Shanker Singh, ICAS, Principal Chief Controller of Accounts (CCA), Ministry of Home Affairs, today inaugurated the PHQ Budget Allocation Software (PBAS) at PCR Kashmir.
Developed to streamline budget allocation, monitoring and utilization within Police Headquarters, the PBAS platform is expected to strengthen financial governance through technology-driven processes and real-time oversight.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Director General of Police (DGP) J&K Nalin Prabhat, Special DGP Coordination PHQ S.J.M. Gillani, ADGP Headquarters M.K. Sinha and IGP Kashmir V.K. Birdi, among other senior officers.
Deputy Inspectors General of Traffic, Armed Kashmir, CID Kashmir and Central Kashmir Range Srinagar also participated via video conference.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Singh underscored the role of digital platforms in ensuring transparency, accuracy and accountability in financial management.
He said systems like PBAS are key to improving governance and optimizing the use of public resources.
DGP Prabhat highlighted the importance of modern financial management tools in strengthening institutional efficiency and accountability within the police organization.
A detailed presentation and live demonstration of the software was delivered by Shakeel Maqbool, ICAS, IFA J&K, who outlined its key features.
He said the platform would facilitate efficient planning, allocation and monitoring of budgetary resources while reducing delays and manual errors.
On the occasion, the DGP presented a memento to Dr. Singh as a token of appreciation.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by ADGP Headquarters M.K. Sinha, who thanked the dignitaries and participants for their presence and support in the successful launch of the initiative.
