UDHAMPUR, Jan 29: Strongly condemning the purported incident of misbehaviour by doctors with MLA Udhampur-West, Pawan Gupta at the Udhampur District Hospital, senior leader Pawan Khajuria has asked the hospital administration to take strict action against those responsible and seriously address the deteriorating condition of health services.
Talking to media person, here today, Mr Khajuria said that in the viral video it can be clearly seen that MLA Pawan Gupta was holding a meeting with doctors at GMC Udhampur and when he asked why senior doctors were not present on duty, a medico behaved rudely with him and even tried to snatch his mike.
“I strongly condemn the misbehaviour with MLA Pawan Kumar Gupta as this incident has not happened only with a public representative, but with the entire public of Udhampur,” he said.
Mr Khajuria said that MLA Pawan Gupta is not alone in this matter and the entire public of Udhampur stands with him as people frequently complain about the negligence of the hospital administration, alleging that they encounter rudeness more often than treatment. However, he also clarified that not all doctors in the hospital are the same. Many doctors and paramedical staff are working honestly and doing good work, due to whom the hospital continues to function, he added.
Pawan Khajuria reiterated that the incident of misbehaviour with the MLA is condemnable and should be investigated. He demanded that the hospital administration should take strict action against those responsible and seriously address the deteriorating condition of health services.
He also appealed to the MLA not to come under any pressure, as this is not an issue of just one individual, but of all the residents of Udhampur district.
