KATHUA, Oct 23: CBI today trapped and arrested a Patwari for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 for registration of a mutation in favour of the applicant.
According to sources, CBI received a complaint from a person that Mohd Ayaz Batt, Patwari of Halqa Chhan Khatrian, is demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 from him in exchange of the registration of a mutation his (applicant’s) favour.

During the course of investigation a trap team was constituted which caught the accused Patwari red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe amount of Rs 10,000 in presence of independent witnesses. He was arrested on the spot after completing all legal formalities.
