SAMBA, Mar 26: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has today arrested a Patwari, Varun Choudhary of Samba district, and his associate, Chowkidar, Dayal Chand of Halqa Nanga, district Samba in a case related to accepting bribe from the complainant.
A case was registered against Patwari Varun Choudhary, on a complaint. It was alleged that accused demanded bribe of Rs. 50,000 from the complainant for issuing Girdawari of land owned by him.
CBI laid a trap and during the trap proceedings, accused asked the complainant to handover bribe amount to his associate, a Chowkidar, Dayal Chand, Halqa Nanga, district Samba. Both the accused were apprehended during the transaction of bribe of Rs. 9,000.
Searches are being conducted at the residential premises of the accused also.
The arrested Patwari and Chowkidar will be produced before the Court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption (CBI Cases), Jammu tomorrow.
