JAMMU, May 18: Rejecting the appeal by Minister of State for Revenue and Relief, the Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association has announced to continue the ongoing indefinite strike till formal issuance of Government order on their demands.
Decision in this regard was taken during an emergency meeting of all the district presidents and executive body members of the Association.
The meet unanimously resolved not to suspend the ongoing strike on assurance of the Minister who had made similar promises earlier also, informed Shahid Iqbal, secretary of the Patwar Association.
Pertinent to mention that Patwaris of Jammu and Kashmir are on indefinite strike for the last  more than one month demanding construction of Patwarkhanas, DPC of Girdawars, increase in the number of attempts for PSC exams from four to eight, no direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildars etc.
The MoS for Revenue and Relief (Independent Charge) Aijaz Khan had yesterday appealed the protesting Patwaris to resume their work and assured to look into their demands positively.
