JAMMU, Oct 1: The residents of Patoli Brahmana and Sharda Colony are facing acute scarcity of drinking water.
The residents of the area said that despite their repeated pleas to Jal Shakti Department no steps have been taken to solve the problem. Due to the water scarcity in the area the people are forced to purchase the tanker water for their day to day needs.
They said that though Government has ensured water to every hamlet under Jal Jeevan Mission in the country but the residents of this area have been made to suffer as they have been constantly facing the water crisis. They said an overhead tank has been constructed in the area over three years back but it has not been made functional for unknown reasons with the result there is a lot of public resentment.
