UDHAMPUR, June 15: MLA Udhampur East, Ranbir Singh Pathania, today kickstarted the macadamisation work on the Sunal-Krowa road, fulfilling a long-pending demand of the locals.
A statement said the Rs 6.98 lakh project aimed at improving connectivity for nearly one thousand residents in this remote belt.
Locals expressed gratitude as the project finally took shape, ending years of struggle with poor road conditions.
Addressing the gathering, Pathania said that building durable road infrastructure is a top priority and vital for growth, connectivity, and better living standards.
He also inspected ongoing work on a motorable bridge along the same road and appreciated the quality and speed of the construction. The bridge is expected to provide uninterrupted access during the rainy season.
Pathania highlighted other upcoming infrastructure projects, including the widening of Dhar Road, the Vishal-Rehna Bridge, and the Samba-Mansar connectivity plan.
He said these efforts aimed at boosting transportation and economic activity in Udhampur East.
On the issue of drinking water, the MLA directed officials to repair defunct hand pumps and ensure water supply through tankers in affected areas.
He criticised the poor implementation of the Ritti Water Supply Scheme and demanded an inquiry into substandard materials, faulty pipe laying and delays.
He also urged the Agriculture Department to increase awareness and support for farmers and asked the Horticulture Department to promote modern practices and help diversify rural incomes.
The event was participated by a large number of locals including Ashish Sharma, Mandal Pradhan; Mamta Sharma and Vijay Singh, ex-Sarpanches; Kulchatter Singh, Numberdar Baldev Sigh, Joginder Sharma, Madan Lal, Soba Chand, along with other prominent community members and stakeholders.
Pathania concluded by stating that his goal is to bring progress to every corner of Udhampur East, ensuring that basic amenities and infrastructure reach even the remotest villages.
