JAMMU, Aug 14: Patanjali Foods Ltd today reported a 31 per cent decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 180.35 crore in the June quarter due to higher expenses and appointed former Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Durga Shanker Mishra as non-executive independent director.
Its net profit stood at Rs 262.72 crore in the year-ago period.
Total income rose to Rs 8,912.69 crore in the April-June period of the 2025-26 fiscal year from Rs 7,202.35 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding year, according to a regulatory filing.
During the June quarter, there was an increase in other expenses, primarily on account of the spends on advertisements.
“Effective May 31, 2025, basic customs duty on crude palm, sunflower, and soybean oils dropped to 10 per cent. This impacted the edible oil demand in Q1, FY26,” the company said.
Patanjali Foods is a major player in edible oils. It also sells other food products.
The board also approved re-appointment of Swami Ramdev as non-executive non-independent director.
It also gave nod to appointment of Durga Shanker Mishra as the additional non-executive independent director with effect from August 14, subject to approval of shareholders at the ensuing AGM of the company.
The term of appointment of Mishra is for a period of three years.
Mishra superannuated on June 30, 2024 from the position of Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh. He belongs to the 1984 batch of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) of Uttar Pradesh cadre.
He was also secretary of Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
