JAMMU, Oct 6: Pacca Danga police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a passenger and recovered 9 kilograms of poppy straw from his possession.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Pacca Danga Police Station laid a naka near Manda and intercepted a passenger vehicle coming from Srinagar towards Jammu.
During checking, police recovered 9 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of a passenger and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Surinder Kumar, a resident of Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 135/17 has been registered at Pacca Danga Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Pacca Danga SI Dheeraj Nagpal made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO North Varun Jandial and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
