JAMMU, Nov 6: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) here today organized a Punjabi Kavi Darbar to mark 556th Parkash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj.
S.S Bijral (retired IGP) was chief guest on this occasion while Harvinder Kaur, Secretary JKAACL, Ajit Singh Mastana and Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Sheeraza Punjabi shared the dais.
In welcome address, Harvinder Kaur emphasized Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s timeless philosophy of compassion, humility and service to humanity.
S.S Bijral called Guru Nanak Dev a guiding light for truth and moral strength.
Ajit Singh Mastana highlighted Guru Nanak Dev’s universal message of peace and communal harmony.
Renowned poets Dr. Jatinder Udhampuri, Swami Antar Neerav, Surinder Kaur Neer, Amrjit Kour Neer, Resham Kour, Baljit Raina, Harjit Uppal, Bachan Bharti, Pyasa Anjum, Harcharan Singh, Suraj Rattan, Suraj Singh Suraj, Jang S Verman, Jatinder Singh, Balwinder Singh Jammu, Balkar Singh, Bhupinder Singh Bhargav, Didar Singh and Dr. Monojit, along with students of MAM College and GCW Gandhi Nagar, recited their poems inspired by Guru Nanak’s teachings.
Members of Kashmir Sikh Sangat, Jammu and several literary personalities attended the programme.
The programme was conducted by Tejinder Singh Premee and it concluded with vote of thanks by Popinder Singh Paras.
