SAMBA, Jan 17: National Panthers Party general secretary, Rajesh Pargotra has demanded immediate repair of the damaged bridges on Devak, Balole and Utterbehni.
Talking to media persons, here today, he accused the Government of being insensitive towards repair of these three vital bridges because of its discriminatory approach towards Jammu region.
Mr Pargotra also demanded a CBI probe to establish how these three bridges collapsed soon after their construction by Public Works Department. “Crores of rupees were spent on construction of these bridges, which collapsed during the rainy season soon after their inauguration,” he said and alleged that the executing agency officials were more interested to make money from these works.
Stating that damaged bridge on Balole nullah was giving rise to the number of accidents there, Mr Pargotra rued that the pilgrims visiting Utterbehni and general public were facing hardships because of the same.
During the press conference, Mr Pargotra was accompanied by Khajur Singh (Sarpanch Bagla Rahya), Inderpal Singh, Subash Verma and others.
