KATHUA, Nov 1: The people in village Pansar in Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district held a protest demonstration today against the encroachment of the land by a group of nomads in this border area.
The protesters demanded that the land be restored to the village as the presence of strangers and unwanted elements can pose a security threat in view of the area being very close to the border. They said that in view of the border skirmishes, the people apprehend that anti social elements or infiltrators can easily mingle with these nomads and damage peace and harmony.
They criticized the administration for its failure in evicting the nomads from the area and sending to them to their original inhabitation where they were putting up for years together.
The irate people warned to intensify agitation and stage a protest at DC office in case their demand was not conceded by evicting nomads from the area.
