Panel set up at GMC Srinagar to vet clinical trials

SRINAGAR, Mar 9: Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar has constituted a Screening Committee to scrutinize clinical trials and research projects involving financial, administrative and legal implications within the institution and its associated hospitals.
According to an official order issued in this regard, the committee has been formed to ensure proper regulatory compliance, institutional oversight and administrative control over such research proposals.
As per the order, the committee will be chaired by Dr. Arshad Hussain, Professor, Department of Psychiatry, while Dr. Mohammad Saleem Itoo, Professor, Department of Anatomy and Deputy Registrar Academics, will serve as the Member Secretary.
Other members include Dr. Muzaffar Maqbool, Professor, Department of Medicine; Tahleela Asmat, FA/CAO, GMC Srinagar; Nadia Khanday, Chief Accounts Officer, Associated Hospitals; Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Personnel Officer, Associated Hospital, GMC Srinagar; and Nuzhat Wani, Assistant Legal Remembrancer, GMC Srinagar.
The committee has been tasked with examining and screening all proposals related to clinical trials and research projects that involve financial, administrative or legal aspects submitted to GMC Srinagar.
