JAMMU, Dec 4: To get the feedback about the organizational affairs and party structure at the district level, PCC Chief Tariq Hameed Karra held an interaction with the District presidents of Jammu province, here today.
The meeting was held in the presence of working president’s Tara Chand and Raman Bhalla.
Addressing the meeting, Karra said that people of the country are struggling with rising inflation and the youths are finding it difficult to get jobs.
“There is a palpable economic crisis brewing – joblessness among the youth, unbearable price rise, severe farm distress and a complete corporate capture of the country’s wealth. People are worried about losing their jobs, their incomes are falling further and their dreams of a better future are shattering and there is a deep sense of hopelessness amongst the people.”
He stressed upon the urgent need to kick start Darbar Move which is economy engine for Jammu and generate thousands of jobs for local people.
“Jammu & Kashmir is the only unique part of the country which is having two capitals. Darbar Move brings cultural, economic, religious exchange among the regions which is essence of brother hood and harmony. It has the history of 152 years dating back to 1872, end of traditional practice brings sufferings and unemployment to the region. It is demand of general public to restart historical Darbar Move, as it will boost the economy, tourism and generate thousands of jobs for locals,” he said.
On the issue of ‘Rope Way’ from Katra to Bhawan, he said that construction of rope way should not be at the cost of local people and their livelihood.
“The LG, who is Chairman of Shrine board should first take care of 40 thousand people, whose livelihood is completely dependent upon Yatra including, local shopkeepers, pony service providers and labourers. Therefore it is incumbent upon LG to devise a method where concern of all the stake holders is taken care of in the best interests of providing facilities to yatris on one hand and ensuring livelihood to the affected people on the other hand,” he said.
“Our forefathers united this country on the principle of unity in diversity, irrespective of religion or region, cast creed or colour (Anekta mein aikta) and driven out the britishers from this country. This is the principle of strength of our nation and those giving divisive slogans are weakening the nation and its unity,” he added.
PCC Chief condemned the move of the UP Govt. as the delegation headed to Sambhal led by LoP Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi has been stopped at the UP border in Ghaziabad to meet the victim families in the interest of peace and communal harmony in the country.
“Rahul’s moto has been “Nafarat ke bazaar main Mohabat Ke Dukan” and the ruling regime has created an atmosphere of hatred, it is our duty to bring compassion and love. The congress party has to play the role of unifying force in this atmosphere of divide and rule,” he said.
