“It (the Pahalgam terror attack) has caused losses to the people of Kashmir, as tourists have left. We want the Government to give an effective response, and we stated this in the All-Party Meeting as well,” he said.
He reiterated that the Pahalgam attack was a cowardly and painful act, and that no amount of condemnation would be enough. Click here to watch video
“We have seen how terrorists from Pakistan killed 26 people. What was even more painful was that women and children were separated, and men were asked to recite the kalima-those who couldn’t were killed. This was a beastly act, and we strongly condemn it again,” he said.
Regarding the Kulgam incident, Owaisi said it needs to be investigated to determine the circumstances that led to the death of the 22-year-old youth.
“I have read the statements of his relatives, and the matter should be thoroughly inquired into,” he said.
On India’s actions against Pakistan, especially the move to put the Indus Waters Treaty into “abeyance,” Owaisi said: “There are also issues with the neutral experts and with the arbitration process. Let’s see what happens next.”
