SAMBA, Mar 25: A 70-year-old Pakistani intruder, who had inadvertently crossed into this side of the border, was repatriated after following proper procedure in Samba district today.
Officials said the alert BSF troops picked up the movement of Abdul Hussain (70) son of Dil Mohammad of Village Lehri Khurd, Pakistan, along the International Border (IB), opposite Border Out Post (BOP) Bhaller in Ramgarh sector around 1 PM and subsequently challenged him when he intruded into this side.
They said the intruder surrendered on being challenged and preliminary questioning revealed that he had inadvertently crossed the border.
After thorough enquiry, the BSF established contact with their Pakistani counterparts, and handed over Hussain to the Pakistani Rangers through BOP Bhaller around 7 PM, officials said.
