Jammu, Nov 7: Sara Mahajan of Model Academy got the first prize while Ananya Gupta of K C Public School bagged second prize and Komal Sharma got third prize in the junior group of annual painting-cum-poster competition held in connection with the celebration of World Diabetes Day falling on November 14.
Ritanshi Khajuria of Shangrilla Public School and Anjali Kumari of S M Shishu Niketan Jeevan Nagar got the first and second consolation prizes in the same group.
In the senior group Prachi Suri of K C Public School bagged the first prize, Ritika of Shiksha Niketan, Jeevan Nagar got the second prize while Arunima also of K C Public School got the third prize respectively.
Two consolation prizes in senior group were bagged by Sarika Saini of Guru Nanak Public School and Deepanshu Thakur of St. Xavier Convent School respectively.
The competition was organized by Janta Diabetes Care Centre, Talab Tillo and JAKFAS.
The World Diabetes Day is celebrated to mark the birthday of Dr. Feddrick Banting the Noble Prize Winner who discovered Insulin in 1921 which saved and changed life of millions of diabetics all over world.
Dr Raj Kumar Sharma senior Diabetologist, Jammu also a well known artist has been working relentlessly to make people aware about this disease and remove the myths about the management of diabetes.
The students in their way painted the slogans. The quality of the paintings and posters was excellent. Paintings were judged by Harsh Sharma, Ch Sunder, Suresh Sharma, Vijay Gupta and Sushil Dubey.
