SRINAGAR, June 11: Early this morning the Governor, N.N. Vohra, flagged off the “Walkathon- Proudly Kashmiri-II” from the Duck Park which is located along the Foreshore Road in Srinagar. Sham Lal Sharma, Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control was the guest of honour on the occasion.
This event was organized by SPACE Communications, in collaboration with a daily newspaper, with an objective to enhance the awareness of young students about environmental issues and Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage. Over 1000 students from different educational institutions along with many dignitaries, prominent citizens and people from different walks of life participated in the event.
The Governor appreciated the initiative of the organizers to arrange the Walkathon and assured his continuing support to all such meaningful endeavours which promote the interests of youth of the State.
